If you've ever had the chance to visit The Lodge in person, you'll know that we're huge fans of Southwest design. For us, we like to be surrounded by manly things, and the handsome patterns and rich colors of Native American textiles paired with the handicraft of artisans in the Southwest and Great Plains are inspiring and create the ultimate Lodge look that we like in our surroundings.
So on our first trip to Santa Fe recently, we had to stop in to a place we had only heard rumors of- Shiprock Santa Fe. Part Gallery, Part Trading Post, and Part fashion mecca, Shiprock occupies a cool loft space in the 1800s-era Silver Building on the Old Santa Fe Trail. Owned by 5th generation trading post owner Jed Foutz, this place has the coolest collection of Navajo rugs, saddle blankets, Pottery, and Jewelry that we've ever seen in one place.
It also houses the largest Visvim shop outside of Japan. If you know Visvim, a Japanese brand deeply influenced by the old American West, you'd understand why creator Hiroki Nakamura would be here, but it was still a surprise for us to discover it here.
Check out our pictures of the place, our apologies for the iPhone quality of the pics.
