Summer is upon us. Memorial Day weekend is just next week and the prospect of getting away has us excited. It also reminds us that with the inevitable sunshine that we'll be soaking in, we'll have to alter our regimen a bit and ensure that we're taking care of our skin.  Here are our tips-

1- Keep your face clean- Get a good face wash that removes the daily sweat, grime, and general guy things that happen to your face during the day.  It's a good idea to use one in the morning and at night.  A good one is Blind Barber's Facial Cleanser. Derived from botanical extracts and with a great scent, you'll feel great after you use it.

2-  Drink Lots of Water- staying hydrated is the key to good skin and to recovery from busy night-time activities.

3-  Stay moisturized- Seems simple, but finding something that works for your skin is important.  A good oil-free skin moisturizer will keep things looking fresh and tight without adding shine to your face.  We recommend Ernest Supplies Protective Matte Moisturizer- full of anti-aging ingredients and without a hint of Oil-

4- Cover up- When you're out under the hot sun, wear a hat.  Something lightweight and breathable is good, but whatever you do, wear one.

5- Own the Night- while you're sleeping, you can use something great that will help you stay young (looking). No, we're not talking about a mask, we're talking about Baxter of California's Night Cream A-ha. Before you knock off for the night, rub this onto your face and neck, let it dry, and while you're snoring it will get your skin in tip-top shape. Trust us, this stuff works.

6-Sunscreen- Always wear sunscreen if you're out in the Sun. What's important is to find one that works well with your skin type and provides both UVA and UVB protection. SPFs indicate the multiple of protection over your skin's natural sun resistance- if you burn in 15 minutes without, then an SPF 30 multiplies that by 30 times- it's better to err on the higher side with protection. 

7-Recover- You need an after activity balm to get your skin back in shape. Whether it's sun exposure, a good workout, or having the wind on your skin while sailing, a good Face recovery cream like Ursa Major's Fortifying Face Balm will help your skin bounce back fast and strong.
