With the Super Bowl fast approaching and the recent skirmish over the playoff Football, we were curious about the makers behind the NFL Balls. Surprisingly, the same maker has been supplying the official Footballs to the league since 1941- Wilson. And impressively, these balls are Made in the USA, in Ada, Ohio.
For nearly 75 years, every single pass, touchdown, and interception has used Wilson's Footballs, made using pebbled cowhide leather from Horween Tannery in Chicago. The size, dimensions, and psi inflation standards have remained the same, to allow for consistent results on the field.
We have to give kudos to the NFL for maintaining an American-made tradition and honoring these skilled sports artisans.
